The Louisville Zoo is asking for your help

Updated: May 25, 2020

The Louisville Zoo has been an amazing place for families to visit since 1969. It's mission to have a "Better Bond Between People and Our Planet" has been exemplified by providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors, and leadership in conservation education.

The Louisville Zoo currently exhibits more than 1,100 animals on 130 acres of natural settings representing zoo geographical areas, specific habitat types or special education areas including: Glacier Run, Africa, Islands, New World Exhibits (North, Central and South America), Australian Outback, the HerpAquarium and the Metazoo Education Center.

The Louisville Zoo is dedicated to providing stimulating environments for Zoo animals to enhance their well-being and enrich the quality of their lives. We share many of our animal training sessions on a daily basis to engage visitors, allow them to meet zoo keepers and learn more about our animal ambassadors and how to support conservation programs.

The Louisville Zoo is easily one of the favorite local attractions for families in the area. This non-profit organization is currently closed to the public, the dedicated animal care team and other staff are working to maintain the Zoo’s high level of care for all the animals. By making a donation to the Louisville Zoo Fund, you are directly supporting animal needs including food, healthcare and enrichment. We appreciate your support of your Zoo, now and always.
