Local Businesses that closed their doors

Its always sad to hear about businesses that need to close their doors for any reason, but this pandemic has been so unfortunate to not just families, but many businesses as well. Here is the list of businesses that closed their doors recently:

Kazoing!

Known for their bounce houses, was a great place for birthday parties, they had mothers day out programs and camps. It was located in the Jefferson Trade Center off of Westport and Chamberlain ln.

Annie's Attic Consignment

This was a great consignment store in Middletown. I saw a not posted on their door on Monday that they had to close the business and any holds could still be picked up.

Judy's Finest Consignments

After 26 years of business, Judy's decided to close their doors. Judy's was located on Main Street in Middletown.

Clodhoppers Boutique

Located in St. Matthews, Clodhoppers was closed after 25 years of business.

Reuse & Baby Lou

Handmade reusable items shopped closed its doors on May 27th

Louisville Paddlesports

Provided the regions kayak and paddleboard needs. They are still auctioning off some of their equipment if you are interested. Click Here

North End Cafe

A cafe located in the Clifton neighborhood that featured traditional items made with a healthy approach using fresh ingredients including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free items.

Eddie Merlot's

A fine dining steakhouse formerly located at 4th Street Live!

MilkWood

Located at 326 W. Main Street, MilkWood owner Chef Edward Lee, the Lee Initiative is partnering with Children Shouldn't Hunger, Actors Theatre of Louisville and Robert Barry Fleming to transform the space in honor and memory of David McAtee (a Louisville native who owned YaYa BBQ restaurant that was killed by the national guard) to the brand new McAtee Community Kitchen. Served old school New York Pizza and was located in Norton Commons

Ole Hickory Pit BBQ

Open since 1954, this open pit BBQ joint made the tough decision to close at the end of May. Ole Hickory Pit Bar-B-Que was located on Shepherdsville Road.

Lilly's Bistro

Open for 46 years, owner Kathy Cary has decided to retire. Currently doing take out orders only, last day of business will be June 27th. Lilly's Bistro was located on Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

Scarlet's Bakery

A non-profit bakery created to safe women from the sex trafficking industry has now closed both of its locations on Oak Street and on Fairfax Avenue. They will continue online operations at scarletsbakery.org

Ramen House

Eiderdown

German-American restaurant formerly located in Germantown on Goss Avenue closed at the begining of March

New China

A family owned chinese restaurant on Blankenbaker & Shelbyville rd next to Jet's Pizza and Beef O'Brady's.

Del la Torres & La Bodega

After 25 years in business, the restaurant owners have decided to retire in early April and was located on Bardstown rd in the highlands.

Migo

Located on Dundee Rd, the owners decided to change to another concept the own called Hammerheads

Mod Pizza

Family friendly pizza restaurant formerly located on Breckenridge Lane in McMahan Plaza.

China Inn Restaurant

Formerly located on 4th street in Cardinal Shopping Center, this was a Chinese restaurant loved by many college students.

Lola's Kitchen

Louisville's only Fillipino restaurant formerly located on Frankfort Avenue closed May 7th

OSTRA

Ostra served South American inspired dishes and seafood. Formerly located on Frankfort Avenue decided to close its doors in the middle of May

Community Dental Care

Closed their West Broadway location, howevert he location on Taylor Blvd is still open

Old Chicago- Springhurst location closed just before pandemic, Stoneybrook closed during pandemic

Pier 1 Imports- closed all locations

Bath and Body Works has announced they will be closing 51 stores nationwide, the list of stores has not been announced yet.

Starbucks announced they will be closing 400 stores in the United States and focus more on digital sales, pick up, curbside service and on the go sales. They have not announced which stores will close.

JC Penney closed 240 stores, none of which are in Kentucky
