Middletown Library gets a new location!

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

The Middletown Library has been such a great place for the community. It was so unfortunate that funding was cut after the teacher pension debacle in March of 2019. It closed for a little while and reopened in November of 2019 temporarily in the hopes of finding a new permanent location. After every Louisville library closed from Covid-19, it became unclear as to whether or not Middletown would reopen at all.

The Middletown branch has found a new permanent home at a smaller cost to tax payers. The new location is so convenient within walking distance to 2 schools- Eastern High School and Hite Elementary school, directly across from the Middletown Kroger. The new location will be 12556 Shelbyville Road, Louisville KY 40243.

Bryon Chapman, Middletown Mayor is hopeful that people will be able to utilize the new library January 1st, 2021.
